My fairly new Dorman balancer shifted and the timing marks are no longer accurate, I have also talked to a few mechanics and other people on here who had similar issues with these dorman balancers. anyways I had an old mechanic who times by ear get me close to my base timing (10BTDC). Not gonna get a dorman HB again, looks like summit sells a powerbond premuim HB but if anyone else has any recommendations let me know. Will probably buy the powerbond HB and see where the mark is with my timing light, and tweak timing a bit if needed. I know people like to run anywhere from 10-14 degrees BTDC, each motor is different. My goal is to know where my timing is and adjust it a bit more if needed. I don't 100% trust the guys who can time motors by ear, I was actually surprised to learn some people are really against using timing lights and timing marks... here's a link to the balancer on summit. Also I know to pull the SPOUT before setting base timing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...riat/year/1990
Thanks in advance!

I learned of them from the Fordsix guys as we are all in that same boat. Last I heard was about $150 shipped and probably have yours in stock.
Keep us posted if you go that route.
will do. I know it’ll be more expensive that route, but if they have the OEM balancer for my motor that’s way better than taking a chance on these aftermarket balancers which sometimes aren’t even assembled correctly
