I have a 1976 Ford ln700 with a gas engine 361 cubic inches with a head blown gasket. I will probably change the engine for a diesel....! My question is witch engine (diesel) will fit with my actual transmission (clark manual 5+2 (roxell) ). ? From 1980 to 1984 they used a 3208 Caterpillar 10.4L in the F-800 but im not sure my clark transmission will directly bolt on it? Thank you

I believe the cat 3208 uses a # 2 bell housing, like my 534 with a spicer .you might need a transmission rated for a more powerful engine .so try to find out what transmission are best suited for that engine.you current engine weighs 500 lbs ,a 3208 cat weighs 2000 lbs ,so you will need a heavier rated front axle ,12,000 lbs .and you will need better braking power .
