After years of shopping around and thinking about it I finally pulled the trigger today on a heavy duty pickup. It's my first 3/4 ton or greater pickup. I bought a 2019 F250 XLT. There are some things on this truck that are missing that have always been pretty much standard on my other brands and I'm going to start one by one adding them. First on the list is remote start. What is the best path to take to add remote start to a base level XLT?
Later I want to replace the 4" screen with something larger and usable.
I have their product and love it, been in the truck for five years with out issue...uses factory key fob too. It took me literally seven minutes to install, its all plug and play.

Looks like a great option. I like that it doesn't require dealer activation. Thanks!

I also just this weekend replaced my 4" Sync 1 screen with an 8" Sync 3 and it's so much better!
Where did you source parts for the 8" conversion? Was it the $1,900 kit from infotainment dot com?
Did the 2019's not have remote start via Ford Pass? My 2022 XLT premium has it.
Yes. I have it on my XLT. I use it all the time. Not so much through the Ford Pass app, but all the time to start it and let it cool down before I get to it. Especially right now in South Texas. Gawd it's hot here right now!

Another vote for for 12voltsolutions, I've had their remote start on 3 Super Duties now. Great product, their customer service was easy to work with when I had an issue (I moved the remote start from a gas model to a diesel and needed some help) and they're stupid easy to install.
So I looked into that 12voltsolutions product. Seems that it is not a "smart" remote start. In other words, the ONLY thing it can do is start the engine. I was kind of hoping to find one that will automatically heat the cabin in the winter.

I dont know how that system works, but I would think when the truck starts the climate control will come on and do whatever its last setting was... so if its "heat" it will heat, if its "cool" it will cool... but maybe that system doesnt work like that.
Ford Vehicle Security System (VSS) adds a shock sensor to the existing intrusion sensor, but it also adds remote start with the 3-button key fob by pressing lock-unlock-lock. It's around $170 and does not require "dealer" activation.
