2000 Excursion V10 propane conversion
2000 Excursion V10 propane conversion
I am looking to convert my 2000 Ford Excursion 6.8 Litre V10 to propane. Due to the criminal " watering down " of the gasoline octane. Making my truck run horridly. With my current mileage output of 7 - 10 MPG City/ 12 - 15 MPG Highway after my recent oil change. Instead of the previous numbers I was receiving ( 15 - 18 City/ 18 - 22 Highway )....I've had enough of the highway robbery from these Deep State corporate shills. Doing my due diligence prior to beginning the conversion through education for the long haul...What is the very first thing I need to do to perform a flawless conversion? What are the basic parts I need to perform the conversion? What safety precautions will I need to perform regarding the gasoline tank. While switching them out for 2 - 20 Gallon Propane Belly Tanks ( 1 Primary, 1 Reserve ). What would I need to financially set aside for a full conversion? Are there certified conversion experts in both Utah and Nevada where I am able to be referred? What is the appropriate timeframe for a professionally certified propane conversion ( start to finish ). I am here to learn. And...Pass the kowledge on to tohers whom are also considering the conversions, such as myself. Any help to point me in the right direction would be useful. Thank you for your time and efforts, in advance.
Welcome to FTE.
I gave you your own thread here vs. being tagged on to an unrelated topic.
I think you have some other problem. No one has been reporting the kind of mileage loss you mention without there being some other problem with the engine or fuel system.
I would suggest you pull codes from your OBD II system, and if any, run them down. You can start a thread in the Excursion or V10 forums for assistance.
