I heard it on a TV news blurb. It sounds like a wiring harness rubs against the axle housing. A short circuit results, applying the brake. IIRC no accidents or injuries so far.

Gotta be a real "moment" if it happens at speed.
Does anyone know where I can get more detailed info about this so I can check my vehicle? Which side etc?
I had some warranty work done on my "22 at a ford dealership on 8-8-23. I asked about the brake recall and I was told they never heard of it.
All depends on how reputable your dealer is. Locally, in CA I asked about item on my '01 and was told they knew nothing about it. Made appointment with Ford Rep (?) and got told the same thing. Within 45 days I got a postcard notice stating my options. My gut tells me that the "Ford Rep" was just some office person the Dealership presented to me. Bought my '14 elsewhere.
I got an official recall notice. Had it done when the truck was in for routine service. When I searched, there were drawings and diagrams with descriptions of the work to be done.
You might be asking the wrong question to the dealer. It's a wiring harness issue. Ask about the brake harness chafing issue on rear axle and they will probably know what you are referring to. That and my '21 had the recall and when I took it in for an oil change it was in their database to check the harness and do the recall.
