coincidence?

I have a 2003 F-350 6.0 Super Duty with approximately 154,000 that I have owned for about 8 years. I recently had the turbo replaced and before I picked it up the shop told me that the high pressure oil pump was failing. The oil pressure gauge shows no pressure at start or idle and it is a very hard start, neither was a problem before I took it to the shop. Does anyone with 6.0 experience have an idea if maybe something was reinstalled incorrectly to cause this new issue? The truck runs and drives pretty strong with the exception of the oil pressure and hard starting issues. It would be nice to have some valid information before I discuss with the shop owner.

Sounds like one of two things happening. High oil pressure leak or low oil pressure geo rotor is not pumping well enough any more (failing gears or relief valve at gear).

Is the hard starting issue every time you crank it or only when hot/cold etc?

Do you have any way of checking values/PID's for data?

I have no equipment to check values. Hard start no matter if hot or cold.
thank you

Post a picture of the top of your engine. Be sure to get both batteries and the wiring tray above the turbo in the picture.

Be prepared - we will request that you get ForScan as a scan tool and code reader. Practically free software. A functional OBDII adapter can be obtained for $35 (ish).

Guessing gets expensive most of the time.
