Question F600 Decode

Good morning! Just curious if someone can decode this for me. It's my brother-in-law's truck and I'm trying to talk him out of it. I don't even know what year it is.

Thanks in advance.

I'll get back to you Tuesday pm as I am out of town. Someone else might get to before then.

What wheels are on it? Widow makers are common in that era.

Thanks 85e. Yeah, it definitely has widowmakers on it.

Looks like a 330 2 bbl, and 4 speed with a 2 speed rear end, ratios are 5.83/8.12. Maybe 85e150 will get back with the year.

Mod note: Truck is a '63, so it's a Y-block, see below.

F60 = F600

C = 292 2V MD Ford Y-block

K = Kansas City Assembly Plant

353923 = 1963 numerical series, November 1962 production

174 = 174 inch wheelbase

A = Raven Black

F600 = F600, 17,000 lbs GVWR

81A = Standard Cab.

F = Borg-Warner T-98 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

F2: Eaton model 13800 Two Speed Rear Axle // 6.33/8.81 // 14,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity (or 15,000 lbs capacity)

No front axle code = standard Ford front axle without power steering, probably 4,500 lbs capacity.

17000 = 17,000 lbs GVWR

135 3800 = 134 certified net HP @ 3800 RPM

53 = Kansas City District Sales Office.
No special order, bought out of dealer inventory.

You may have the double curse of widow makers that are hub piloted. More in this post from a thread with a similar truck produced at about the same time:

Thank you 85e150 for the detailed run down. Double curse… Ugh! Not sure I want to deal with that.
