1994 f150 e40d stuck in 4th in drive

So i have a 4x4 1994 f150 with a e40d that is stuck in fourth when i put her in drive. Ive done what i can think to fix the problem and nothing is working. Ill just lay out the current situationHer symptoms:stuck in 4th when in drive. She does shift from 1st to 2nd on the column. When in drive i cant get her to go up past 2500 rpms. Reverse works, sometimes a bang shift into reverse but she goes in every time. All fuses are intact. The check engine light is on and the od switch on the shifter doesnt work. What ive done to her:Replaced the shift solenoid pack, shift cable, vss, torque converter, and the tps. I changed the tranny fluid, filter and the oil pan gasket. Made sure it was mercon not mercon v or iii.Any suggestions would be appreciated as im about to put a manual in. If theres an easier fix id be more than interested in taking that route but ive exhausted my mechanical knowledge on the subject.

First thing first. Pull the engine codes. Here's how. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...aper-clip.html

Sounds like your transmission is not getting power. Check your wiring harness on the passenger side of the transmission above the oil pan. Disconnect it and strip away the loom to look for damaged wires. They get cooked from the exhaust pipe so close.

You should order this CD so you have the wiring schematic to make repairing your truck easier. https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...3Bmedia%3DCOPY

What you are describing is exactly what will happen if the solenoid body doesn't get power. You have a wiring issue.

And FYI, MERCON V would have been a better choice. Nobody has made a MERCON fluid since 2006.

Tracing wires is usually a waste of time. Check the wires electrically for continuity, short to power, and short to ground.
