460 heads

The machine shop pointed out these 2things about my heads. Just asking if he is giving me a line of bill or is it something. They said these are double hump and "X" heads. Is that really something?

Double hump.

\"X" mark heads.

Something about being heavier and can take revs or something like that.

True or false?

Not sure if this will answer your question but looks like some good info here.

Total nonsense.

D3VE head castings are all the same. There were some minor differences such as some being drilled for the thermactor AIR ports and some not. The ones that came on the marine 460 had spring seats that were machined to allow the use of a hardened cup under the spring like a CJ head.
