Trailer Socket
I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction for my problem I'm having. I have a 2006 E350 work van and is used hauling my dumpster trailer when needed. I recently plugged in trailer and while checking if all lights working, they all shut off do to a short.
Since than rewired trailer and the issue I'm having is with van trailer 7 socket connector that was installed on van when purchased over 15 years ago and worked flawlessly.
My problem is with Right turn/stop and Left turn/stop. Both wires read a little under 12 volts but when adding a 1 led light to either wire (green) or (yellow) wire it drops to 4 volts and dimly lights. From original from trailer short it did blow the tow turn single fuse (26) that I replaced and also replaced the Tow trailer left and right relay with no help. My first thought was ground and traced back to connection on chassis and cleaned. Just to avoid any confusion I'm working from plug back... I eliminated the trailer.
I would appreciate if someone could suggest something I might have missed. I am thinking I may have to just run 2 new wires, any suggestions on how far back to go and where would be a great help.
Thanks,
Dan
