Had 2500 miles on a 2023 with the HO 6.7 Diesel when the engine started making some clanging noise. 10 seconds later the low oil pressure warning flashed and the truck shut down. Lost power steering and breaking. Got off the road luckily without any major difficulty. Popped the hood to look for anything loose or leaking, everything looked fine and there was no fluid anywhere, oil level was fine as well. Tried restarting but the truck really struggled to turn over. Called Ford road side assistance which is a complete joke. After an hour on the phone with them, I called a local tow truck and they were there in 15 minutes for half the cost. Once the dealer checked out the truck, they said one of the cylinders was all chewed up and there were metal shavings in the oil filter. Engine is shot and I need a new one. There are no complete engines available so no the dealer is trying to piece together one to build. There is no way I want a dealer rebuilt engine in my brand new $90K truck. Also, apparently the complete engines are rebuilds as well.
Who or what are you going to sue for?
What does contractual agreement with Ford say?
Now most failed engine are about 60/90 day turn around, at least the ones posted on here as of late. I had a 6.7 replaced and it was about 45 + days in the spring.
Now, does the block and what nots interchange with a HO, I don't know.
At what magical point or mileage. Is it okay or not okay for a brand new engine or a remand? Who determines that?
A judge?
A jury?
Ford?
Once again, what does contractual agreement say?
Just questions
Best of luck to ya.
Also You inferred that the price you paid should outrank say a brand new $20,000 vehicle? Why is that?
My sticker was 107K, if my motor failed should I get mine new engine replaced before you?
Today marks 8 weeks since my 6.7 blew and I have learned a lot. Ford is not going to get you an engine any time soon. If they reach out to you on here and put you in contact with a rep don't feel like you are getting anywhere. I was quickly blown off. My dealer just waited 10 months to get the last one in. I have spent so many hours on the phone. I missed the lemon law window by a few weeks. I am stuck. Lawyer up right now. Do not accept any type of financial compensation from Ford. Google lemmon law lawyers. It will cost you nothing to be represented.

Great post & thank you for sharing the details of your ordeal.
So is Ford making the months of payments and prorating your warranty while it sits on the dealer lift just waiting? There are engines available, fact is they are too greedy to let them go for a customer fix on their dime instead, they want to put it into a new build, sell it to make money to fund their high CEO salaries and the EV development. The good old days are gone. Warranty means nothing if replacement parts aren’t readily available. It’s a damn joke and the only thing we can do about it is just stop buying the products. If these big corporations don’t take care of their customer base, we do actually have the power of our wallets to close to them and ultimately take care of them. Look at Bud Light and what negative effect it had in just one week. The same for the auto industry would be huge real fast. Way more money involved per unit

Considering the supply chain has never been like this, how do you know the “good ole days are gone?” They quite possibly could have done the same in those good ole days.
These are first world problems and we act like the sky is falling. You want to stop buying now that you got your 2022, then go ahead. Buy Chevy or Ram, and see that everyone is the same. I’m on my 18th Ford and I don’t see that changing now. Some dealerships are better than others but that doesn’t have anything to do with the company.

They will offer to make a payment but my lawyer advised me to decline it. A settlement will be worth a lot more. Engines are out there yes and they will only release a few at a time to dealers. Never a shortage of them on the assembly line it seams.

do they have new 20-22 motors sitting and releasing slowly? I doubt the '23 motors can be dropped into 22 trucks.

Thanks for sharing. Seeing Ford repeatedly treat customers like this, I wish I could rewind time. They have turned into a heaping pile of 💩
Tomorrow marks 10 weeks and this afternoon I needed tools from my truck and was told when I walked in an engine has shipped. A phone call would have been nice
