Yeah, them Yooupers are too close to Canada (oops, now I have offended folks in nearly every place I like to visit except North Dakota). Actually I visit the UP a lot and just got back from a loop over Lake Superior last month. Great folks up there. And I have a brother who lives in Duluth--he talks funny too!

Was on a trip in Pennsylvania, asked a guy in a small store in a small town where I could get a pop around here. He says "Pap, what's pap? Oh you must mean soda." Oh man!
We moved from virginia to Colorado when I was a kid and pulled into a service staion offering "Ice Pop Snacks" on their billboard. I walked in and asked for an "ice pop snack", thinking it would be refreshing. The native behind the counter had No idea what I was talking about. I'm still looking for one......... 20 yrs later.
