I swapped out my BW1356 electric shift transfer case for the BW1356 manual shift version. Is any of the wiring for the electric shift TC usable for operating the two dash lights that were 4High and 4Low? The electric shift version had a large plug with 8 or 9 wires , seems they could be spliced to the to the wires that go to the manual version. Anyone have a part number for the manual version wire and plug?
On another site I found this: The way the switch in the TC works is, when in 4WD hi, it sends one of the two wires to ground. When in 4WD low, it sends both to ground. If you cut all of the plugs off the harness and splice the TC plug onto the wires which went from the tranny plug to the mystery plug, it will work. My wires were so old and dirty, that I really can't give you a reliable color code to use, but there are only two wires. Trial and error will figure it out and hay, you've got a 50-50 chance of getting it right on the first try.
Getting the dash lights on is more than just for looks. If the 4WD low light does not come on, the tranny will not know you are in low and it will not shift. It has modified shift points when in 4WD low.
True?
It has modified shift points when in 4WD low. True?
E4OD transmission yes low range indicator light circuit is also grounding pin 12 at PCM, if the range switch is not working pin 12 not grounded it will not shift right.
Stays in first gear and yes It will eventually shift but not like it should. Shifts way to late slamming hard into second for example, once the engine rpms are sky high. The computer I guess finally figures out hey something is off here not moving very fast, TPS is or getting high, rpms are climbing quick so will I guess I better shift the trans.
