F150 vs Explorer controls

Does anyone else own another Ford vehicle in addition to their F150? Wife drives an Explorer Platinum and I use it occasionally instead of the F150 Platinum. Time to vent. Why is there no consistency/standardization in the locations of switches and basic controls? It really screws up the brain when the steering wheel and dashboard buttons are completely different. The wiper switch is on the wrong side. Cruise control, voice button and pretty much every other control is in a different place and behaves differently than on the F150. They even put the fuel filler door on the wrong side of the vehicle! What kind of an ********* engineer would do this and for what possible purpose? What were they thinking? Why can't a Ford be a Ford and all be the same to drive without the driver constantly having to think "which truck am I in right now and where is the "X" switch? " Is there a Ford rep on this site and will you please take my comments back for consideration and future simplification? Are they going to reverse the locations of the brake and gas pedals next? This is a real disincentive to continue buying Fords.

Different vehicles
Different designers
Different engineers
Different audience

Vive la difference!

If you think this is disincentive to continue buying Fords, hop into a Dodge Ram then a Dodge Durango.

I feel your pain, especially when I drive my wife's Jeep wrangler. But then Chrysler products always seemed to have odd controls to me.
