Start / run electrical circuit.
Not many wires but I'm hung up. Got the solenoid hooked up. Bumped the motor over. Went to wire up to ignition and can't seem to figure it out. Thought I had it this morning. Started by testing the switch. All looked good until I turned the key to start. Motor started cranking and would not stop with the key. Took loose all the ignition wires and had to jump out and unhook the battery. Simple but I'm stumped.

Kind of sounds like your solenoid got hung up or the ignition switch was stuck in the start position. What are you working on?

1959 F100. The switch returned to run.

I had the same problem with a new solenoid, more offshore crap. Returned it and the second one did the same, the third one finally worked ok.

Brand new electrical components can be very perplexing. Ran into that with a new condensor once!
