In my work van the truck gets idled a lot at jobs and after running for about 1 hour the compressor shuts off. Will not work again until restarting the truck.
Blows ice cold otherwise and great airflow. It was low on pressure even with it working so I evacuated and recharged the system and it happened again.
next time I was going to test for power at the compressor connector but was curious if anyone else had this issue?
should i replace the orifice?
It only happens every so often.
I replaced the orifice tube and it was dirty but not too blocked.
After running for 2 days it finally happened again. By the time I put gauges on it it was already working fine.
I just don't want to throw parts at it.
To me this sounds like the actual chassis wiring and not a component, electrical or mechanical, is at fault. Since this is at best intermittent and only randomly repeats occasionally I'd look to a connector or loose wire in a connector/bundle
