Returning user - VIN Code Questions
Hello All,
I'm about to acquire an F-250 4WD Custom and have VIN but don't know differential ratios or motor. I do know it is all original.
I will appreciate any help in decoding the VIN, Warranty Tag and MFG. Tag for all the info they hold.
The VIN is: F26YKL86960
Warranty tag:
W.B - 131
COLOR - T
MODEL - F263
BODY - 534
TRANS - B
AXEL - 24
MAX G.V.W. LBS. - 06300

Another tag titled: MFD. BGY FORD MOTOR CO. reads:

Candyapple red with Red/Dark Red Vinyl Custom interior. Code 24 would originally be a 4.10 rear ratio which makes your engine RPM about 3000 with the standard ~32" tires at 70 MPH or 2500 at 60 MPH. A 3.5 rear is at 2500 rpm at 70.
The B code transmission indicates it has a T-85 or T-86 with overdrive though so I think that'll cut the RPMs down by a third or so.

The T-85 3 speed OD makes it a very rare truck for a 4wd. I would pull a Marti Report on it.
Thinking about it means it is extremely rare as it has to have a special trail shaft housing made to hold the TC shifter in place like the NP 435 and the 3.03 three speed does.
