I am gathering ideas for a center console for my '83 F-150. I'm watching DIY youtube vids and Googling. I have a 4spd and 4wd so have to plan for 2 shift levers. I also want to add an instrument cluster, Garmin GPS mount, usb charge port, and of course at least 2 cup holders, and a change well as well as covered storage. Please share your pictures of any consoles you've built, and comment on features you added, wished you'd added, or wished you hadn't added.
I also have bucket seats from a 2004 Ford Fusion installed, so lots of room between them. I'll be making some templates/mockups from cardboard. I'll probably build it out of 3/8 msd or plywood.
... I used a Seattle zip and saw many front ones plus pictures and different trims. Good luck!
Where you at? I'm in north eastern Oregon on the Columbia River, but l often use a Portland or Seattle zip code for parts searches... lots more to choose from in the population centers.

When I used Seattle it gave me parts as far away as CA and AZ. I plugged in Memphis TN, since the OP is from TN, and I got tons of front consoles as far away as FL and NJ. Also I selected front console so no rear ones came up and three showed up in Tennessee. I'm not sure why the OP only got two rears.
I'm in upper East Tennessee. I did put in my zip, and only got 2 hits as previously mentioned. I'm looking for pictures of DIY consoles built for a manual trans 4x4.
I think I have the skills necessary to design my own, just looking to see what others have done for inspiration.

Could be a difference in platforms or browsers that gave such different search results. Anyway if you search images of the stock consoles you can see what they are and I have to say I like them, especially the locking big hatch. Anyway can be part of the inspiration for your custom unit.
Here's a pic of a console and other parts I got years ago. The seats and console are from a Bricknose truck.
I painted the Bimco brushguard and installed it. I recovered the seats and made them into shop chairs. The taillight I have in my parts bin (I've since found better ones). The console I trashed.
The console is just a big bin with a lid. There are 2 cup holders in it that would fit a 12 oz. can of Coke. Better than the lack of cup holders in a Mercedes from the 80s I suppose.
When I ordered my truck I opted for the split back bench for my supercab. I wanted the 6 passenger capability to take 5 friends to the ski mountain and other adventures. And three adult size seats up front. The rear seat has 3 seat belts and for short trips was adequate for adult seating. If I someday replace my seat I'm definitely going to take a hard look at captain's chairs and console.
