Trailer wiring
I'm towing my 95 F150 in signature and presently using a pair of magnetic based lights for rear of truck. I plug the cable into the 7 wire receptacle at hitch on my motorhome. I would like to build my own wiring harness for the truck - it consists of a 4PDT switch that allows me to choose which vehicle is powering the truck lights: for solo driving the truck powers the rear lights and when towing the RV powers the rear lights. I would mount the switch under the hood in a water tite j-box. The 4 pole switch would switch tail lights, brake lights, left turn and right turn. Ground wire would connect motorhome to truck. If necessary I could use the 12v "charge" wire to trickle charge truck battery as well. Is there a central location that the exterior lighting is located?
