First post here and I’m looking for some help from more experienced members. So I have a 96 f250 with only 56k miles, I’m driving the truck everyday and also will be using it to plow(just a small parking lot for my business). That being said I was wondering what should I replace or beef up because i love this truck and I want it to last me for awhile. So far I’ve replaced the front leaf spring to help with the weight of the plow but I’m not sure what else should be done.
First, replace that orange boot of death on turbo if you have not
do you have AC? if yes then the brake system needs a fuse or it can catch fire, free recall still
get a fluid dampr Harmonic balancer, i bet yours will fail soon being that old and the dorman ones are not good from local parts places

How much money you got? Little bit monies or lot bit monies? What do you want to do with the truck? Obviously you are in a colder climate if you are plowing snow. I would look into a upgraded GP relay, I would spend good money on battery replacement when the time comes, I would only use OEM Ford or Motorcraft parts when changing components ie. (UVCH, IPR,ICP,CPS) stuff like that. I would make sure my up pipes are not leaking, my air filter is not cracked and leaking, I would make sure my fuel tank pickups (shower heads) are not cracked and deteriorated. The overall best upgrade to my truck so far was and is efuel. It eliminates so much insanity from the engine valley its crazy. I think a good deal of people here will agree that efuel is a pretty good upgrade. Some people want to go fast, others want a truck as reliable as they can get. The recipe for everyone is different. My goal was/is best performance I can get with no software tuning. Some people laugh at that, slap their tune to ludicrous and burn by me. Merica
I'm by no means an expert but,
3" Down pipe? Does it have the factory flattened down pipe? What about the intake, is it the original factory intake? These are cheaper upgrades and will add some power by getting her to breathe better. I had to install a 3" down on mine. But the previous owner had done a s&b cold air intake on my truck. A lot of these guys install a easily acquired air filter that works very well. Maybe someone can chime in

Its 6637 intake and Riffraff sells the kit. Diamond eye sells a affordable down pipe. My suggestion when doing the down pipe is use a lap joint torca clamp. That way you dont crush the pipe with a regular exhaust clamp and its easy to remove everything and reassemble if need be.
