So, I have had some weird running issues that never made sense to me
runs ok cold, after 3-4 min runs great until warmed up and seem a lil sluggish up to 50% pedal
romps at stops when hot
Some days it goes great, some its ok then goes great.
highway run at 2200 rpm and it will drive great after ten minutes
can get tank down to last few gallons so i know foot isnt broke
Fuel pressure 45 WOT in 3rd at 3k RPM
Inj oring done 10k no leaks at base
IPR is steady along with ICP
some days in 5th its smooth when doing 35, other days its noisey and sluggish at that speed
after two Dorman HB ones failing with in 75 miles, Rubber was still sticky in center and other delaminated from outer ring
bought a Fluidampr one
driven 100 miles so far and the above issue seem to be gone now
yes that 100 is important as we know it takes that long to get air out
its possible that the bad balancer was making bubbles in the fuel bowl or HPOP?
I know the valve train was taking a hit absorbing vibes too but the odd power issue gone wasnt expected and injector ticking is nearly gone (or at least sounded like it)

Just ordered injectors as the OE are crap stock. Side window seal wiper things, you know outside and door panel. EGR block off plates. Bose amps rebuilt.
After reading this thread I said, it's only money. I got a fluidampr on the way for my 97. I watched a few vids on YT of replacing the LPOP, but didn't see anybody using the larger fluidampr balancer.
Did you run into any issues with room during the install and have to pull the rad, etc? Is there anything else i should replace while I'm in there? Thank you
Cannot recall if rad out, sorry... it was about five years ago. We can spend more of your cash, buy Fleetcharge purple, flush cooling system, and toss an inline filter in there too.

perfect, that's the combo i went with. I was going to go with a coolant filter setup but I wanted to wait and get the entire cooling system & oil cooler in one go.
I'm willing to spend some money to make this truck better. No matter how much I spend my total investment would be less than a newer truck
I did that Superduty water pump pan so I can swap the belt. I think I posted pics of it in my thread...it is smaller OD so it spins a hair quicker. More air flow equals better AC too!
Coolant filter will really remove some crap. I even run them on neglected gasser systems.
My stubby impact didn't have enough jam to rattle the bolt off the end of the crank, and my breaker bar just spun the engine even with it in first gear. i ended up having to pull the radiator to get at it with the big half inch impact.
The old LPOP seemed to be in surprisingly good shape, there was very little wear and no evidence of heat or scoring on the front cover. Probably the only good luck I had on the install, lol.
After it was all buttoned back up, it fired up pretty quickly and the issue I was having with the belt rubbing on the water pump pulley is gone, as well as a noticeably quieter idle.
I appreciate the advice and information from you all!
