Decided to do my cam phasers and the solenoids. Watched the YouTube videos several times to make sure I was prepared.
Driver side phaser torqued great.
When I went to do the 90* torque spec on the passenger side, the face of the phaser started turning with the bolt so now the fingers are angled differently than normal.
Will this correct itself once running or is it going to cause timing issues??
I did not see that happen in any of the videos and now I am unsure. Appreciate any help!
So even with greasing up the bottom of the bolt head it ended up ruining the new phaser. Wtf did I do wrong?
Phaser aligned and measured to spec. greased underneath the bolt head. Torqued to spec 30 ft lbs then 90*.
was enough force to shear the pins off the phaser.
When I did my timing I used the toothed tool to the phaser chain teeth . It was the best tool for the entire job. had to use it 4 times . There was not any pressure on pins that go to holes in end of cam . Are those the pins you sheared or the ones inside ? How did you stabilize the shaft while final torqueing .? Where you doing the phaser change out from the top using a wedge on chain ?
Test your torque wrench to see if it was over torquing ? You can use a luggage scale to test.
I did not use any grease
