In answer to your question yes it does. When I converted to 12 volt negative ground I had to buy a new headlite switch. Which included the push pull insert. My switch would not tighten up. In the mount. Special screw in nut would bottom out and not get tight. I used JB Weld and placed a washer on the switch. It's thin so the small tab would catch the square cut on the panel. Had to.hold that switch while I tightened the insert. That tough to do with all the wires attached. And holding the switch so it captured that little square hole on the top. After several trys she finally tightened up. Next issue was the switch know. And the little spring on top.of the switch. That **** and long pin has a flat spot. It operates the dimmer portion of that light switch. The tip.of that pin has to be filed flat. Just a little if it has a point that will inter fear with the spring loaded insert. It will give off a Loud clip when properly insertedAJ.
I goofed up you talking about the ignition switch .and not the light switch. Don't know about that. Mid 50.in Arizona has several bullitens go to their web site. It explains alot of technical stuff. Pretty sure their is something about the ignition switch and the Starter button. My truck did not have the Starter button.AJ

Reason: Ops
Sorry I don't have a better picture, but it almost looks like the top could be flat. The main thing is the tab sticking up from the bottom.
(This is a '53, but I think they're the same.)
I took a new picture with the lock bezel removed. It turns out the top is also a tab: I don't think they make a drill bit for this.

looked at the mid 50 info and discovered that I am missing a part, thanks
Ya I hear ya those parts will drive you crazy, never knew there were so many that were omitted from my 55. Was it the spring? And the cover?AJ
somehow I ended up with a 56 switch, i thought they were the same but as near as I can tell it will work but I need a ignition switch to dash spacer.
As far as the hole I think I can make it with a die grinder and hand file, did one on a scrap piece and the switch fit ok but I then found I was missing the spacer
Ya. I was looking at a few items on the tech information Mid 50 has got a great site that no body else has. Only issue about Mid 50 is the back order issues. Tried to order a gas tank. Sold out. But they had most of the items I needed to replace the fuel tank. They even have info on other shops.you might check on 56. Or 55 I use the thunderbird shop in California for some parts on my 55 that Mid 50 did not have

I started buying from mid 50 30? years ago or so but had not bought from them for a long time, started a new project a few months ago and had a long list and out of like 25 things they had 2 or 3.
and 1 of those items I finally called and canceled after 6 weeks or so,
I've always kept my back order items open. Usually small parts. I've been told they are trying to wean away from China and Taiwan. I've bought from them for several years. Their junk yard has a few odd parts. AJ
