If you are really looking for protection you'll need more than 175lbs of steel. At moderate highway speeds 300lbs is more appropriate. The problem with the 300lbs fabricated to look nice can't be purchased for anywhere near the prices you're considering. I did alot of shopping last year and ended up buying from Reunel in CA.
