I ordered a full bumper replacement with heavy-duty grill guard for my 2011 F-250 4wd. The question is will this extra added weight need to be offset by stiffer springs to avoid sag in the front end? I am not sure just how much that bumper replacement weighs but it is pretty beefy so I be it weighs around 250 just looking at it. The dealer had a F-350 with one of these bumper replacements on it and it looked like it would take hitting a large cow to do any damage with that thing on there. Hitting a deer (especially the tiny bambi deer we have in Texas) I don't think would hurt anything at all.
Anyone here added a ranch-hand bumper replacement to their truck? Not the grill guard alone but the full bumper replacement.
My '08 was heavier than my '11, and that front end weighed just over 5,000 lbs on the front axle. Front GAWR was 5,600 lbs, leaving ~500 lbs payload capacity on the axle.
My '11 is about 200 lbs lighter, and has the same 5,600 lb GAWR on the front axle. I expect you would be able to mount that bumper without any trouble.
Your bumper will weigh 289 lbs. There is no need to add any additional support to your truck. We appreciate your business and hope you enjoy your new truck!
Much appreciated,

From ranch hand. So it looks like it will not be a problem to get the bumper replacement installed. Plus it will help hide that totally hideous front grill. I love the truck overall but I will never get used to how they destroyed the sheet metal on these trucks. Oh well I didn't buy it for its looks.
We demand pics after installation! I've been debating on getting one for my truck, especially after a W. Texas deer did $1800 worth of damage to my F-150.
