Hey everybody, hope everyone is kicking off the start to theyre 4th of july weekend right and proper! I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. i was just hauling my mower and trailer down to camp to mow and as i slowed down for the driveway the truck slammed down a gear, the wrench light came on the dash, the transmission temperature gauge dropped to 0, the transmission temp readout on the tuner dropped to 0 and the shift indicator light went out. I used the tuner to check the transmission codes and it wont communicate with the tcm. the pcm communicates just fine and reads codes just fine. Thats how i got the U0101 code. The trucks a 2011 Ford f350 6.7 with the 6r140. It has 198,000 miles on it. I've had it for 100,000 miles now, it does have "the weight reduction" package when that was done, there was also a streetsmart performance valve body put in it as a preventative measure. This is the first actual issue i've had with the truck, ever, honestly. Just wheel bearings, brakes, shocks, maintenance stuff basically. The way it just suddenly happened points me towards a bad transmission control module, but first, is there any fuses that power it besides number 46? I can only find one fuse that powers the KAM on the thing. Is sudden failure of the tcm a thing? I would of thought it would lose a thing or two but its lost everything, from the shift indicator to the temperature sensor readout. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks everybody!
