So it looks that instead of the plastic pipe of the 11 to 16s popping, the rubber hose of the 17s plus popping...

Better off going aftermarket with either metal pipes and more solid silicone couplers or go with a full silicone pipe replacement with the metal adapter for connection to the EGR valve body and for the IAT sensor...

HS Motor Sports has several different options to solve your issue. I put an all silicone on my 15 about 6 years ago. There are many other aftermarket suppliers to choose from. I even talked a ford service dept. into installing it for me. No charge, no tuning required
Go with something after market for sure.
Good Luck with your repair

Installed the Rudy's Performance hose kit on mine last night. Everything went well except the hose clamp they included for the intercooler connection was too small. Had to reuse the OE clamp. Hopefully it'll be fine long term. Otherwise seems like a nice kit, especially for $120!! I do like the H&S kit we put on my cousin's truck better, but it's not $180 better!

I believe I had to do the same thing...

If it ever slips on you, the down coupler IIRC, and it hits the coolant line there, again, IIRC, take it apart, clean it and use women's hair spray. A tip I got here and it works...

I'll take a pic later.

Is this the one you used?

https://hs-motorsports.com/products/...pgrade-kit-oem

If so, it's no longer $180. It's $289!

Yes, that's the one my cousin bought. What I meant was, it's not worth $180 MORE than the Rudy's kit! They're nearly identical kits, except Rudy's aluminum section is slightly longer.

Ah, got it. A quick scan of reviews leads me to believe that there are fewer complaints about the H&S kit. Kind of have to sift out the "I'm an idiot and don't know an end wrench from a wench" posters.

I have heard good things about the Rudy's kit. HSM makes a nice looking kit, I went the SPE route and so far it has been great. Machine work on the throttle adapter is top notch. I like how the ports re-drilled and tapped on it in case I want to go all 2 fast 2 furious...

He said he paid $120, not sure where the $180 is from.

For what it's worth, the cold CAC pipes like the HSM pipe with the adapter and one piece hose coupler (pipe so to speak) is probably way easier to install then the Rudy's pipe i have... just saying.

Not saying it's worth the extra money just because of that... but just saying...

I gauge ease of install by the number of times I drop the 10mm socket.

That is why i have 10 of each kind. I call it having 10 to the tenth!

Though finding all of the dropped ones is another story.

I did the SPE also. I have no direct experience with Rudy's, but the SPE seems like the more trouble-free choice due to fewer clamped connections. Presumably easier installation, and fewer opportunities for a leak or blow-off. I did have a couple of minor issues with the throttle body adapter, though. The threads on the injection ports would only allow the plugs to thread in about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way. I used thread sealant and tightened them down as far as they would go, so I don't think they'll come out, but it seems like poor QC for a $250 hose. Also had a very difficult time getting the throttle body adapter to click into place. My skinny arms couldn't produce enough force to make it happen. Finally I tried heating it with a hair dryer to soften the o-ring and expand the aluminum, and that did the trick. At least I know it's tight. But I'm nobody's mechanic - might be one of those people who doesn't know a wrench from a wench.

When doing an oil change or fuel filter change, people may press down on that pipe while doing that, or reaching for the dipstick or holding the oil container for filling, even brand new that thing was so squishy it got my attention and made me think about replacing it in a few years.
