HI guys...need to pick some brains.
1999 Ford Ranger XLT w/ a 3.0 and a 4R44E and 4WD.
My Y pipe literally broke in half, and while I was able to get a new pipe...am having issues getting exhaust donuts for the manifolds. The ones the parts store has are to big, and the exhaust shop says it doesn't take any...just bolt it on up.
Is this the case? or are people using something to substitute in stead?
Unless somebody has put some oddball aftermarket exhaust parts on your Ranger (which i doubt), your Ranger shouldn't take exhaust manifold donuts and the Y-pipe should just bolt right to the exhaust manifolds. To verify this, go to Rock Auto, put your truck into the subject and go to exhaust manifolds. Click on the photos and you should see that they are flanged so that the Y-pipe directly bolts it it.
Thank you for the response, someone had put something in the left side flange which made me think a donut went in there. Seemes weird though, almost race like come to think of it...that was how thick/ thin it was
