AC Hoses/fitting issues
Took the truck on Hot Rod Power Tour. Did awesome all the way there and 75% of the way back. Compressor locked up. (warranted). In the process of tearing down to remove/replace the compressor, I was going to completely flush the system so I needed to remove the line from the Condenser to EVAP core. For whatever reason, the fittings would NOT separate. I had to cut the fitting off the line, itself (see pic). Nicked the BRAND NEW Evap core while cutting it off so I need to replace that too
. (New Drier, EVAP Core, Orifice Tube, and Compressor prior to HRPT) Now I cant find the right condenser to evap core line. I have a weird fitting/valve on the line where it connects to the condenser. Its like a one-way valve, of sorts. (see pics for reference).
My question is, What the heck is this valve/fitting? Can I just go to a hydraulic shop and find the correct fitting to mate up to my condenser and delete this valve entirely?
End of the line, itself.
Valve within the fitting at the end of the line
Fitting end that connects to the condenser
Where the valve attached to the old line versus "new" line.
Had to cut off the nut to remove line from evap core.

You can safely delete that fitting.

The thread is primarily about the condenser outlet filter, which was deleted by 1986. Other details may shed a little light on the two types of lines. Here's an illustration from the 1986 service manual:
