Very smokey startups
I was just wondering about the compressor side cause I read in a few places if the compressor side is leaking it can cause blue smoke
I can’t remember if I said it in my last post or not but the bearing housing just stinks. Almost like gear oil. Not sure why
anything above will burn in the combustion chamber unless there is too much of it and then you get smoke
Smoke usually comes from exht seal on turbos, dead hole/low compression or injector leaking by and that usually makes for hydro lock or black smoke

who knows the history of the vehicle with the previous owner. Hopefully they treated it well. It was a 2 owner truck before me. The guy I got it from had it a year. The original owner bought it new
its like seasoning a frying pan in there with all that heat
when i burn used engine oil in my chiminea drum thing, it smells really bad
wish me luck reinstalling the t-4 to the back of the turbo. Those lower bolts are gonna be a B.
Also this winter on a different OBS I replaced the pump and fuel bowl. It almost didn’t start due to the air in the system. Could I just fill the fuel bowl up with diesel manually before starting to crank on it?
Out with the old
New fuel filter housing. ( I find it easier just to buy a whole brand new setup.) RR Diesel was out of stock. Believe it or not Home Depot had OEM motor craft in stock. So I snagged one and had it shipped to the store last week.
New fuel pump (fuel lines were replaced earlier this winter. I should’ve done everything back then with the fuel system. Just didn’t have the $$$)
FPR Screen on old fuel bowl COMPLETELY BLOCKED/CLOGGED
Another angle of FPR
Fuel bowl somewhat dirty and gritty. I cleaned it out a few months ago. But couldn’t get it all. I believe this was the OEM fuel bowl and fuel pump. I had a diesel leak in the valley also
Flatbed makes for a great work bench 😃
These are getting old and brittle at this point and seem to be more failure prone once disturbed. Riff raff sells both the motorcraft lines and a coted stainless braided version of their own.
