Yes, I actually got some of that from SSJ some years ago. I remember it dropped my temps probably around 5° but that was with a clogged orifice tube and evaporator. Wonder if I should try that on my new system , hmmm..
Do you have the max cold mod done yet? It's where you plumb a bypass for the heater core to prevent the hot coolant circulating into the cab and warming things unnecessarily. The fresh air vent can also contribute to less than ideal AC performance. I actually disconnected the actuator and screwed the flap shut to permanently fix that possibility. Now it's either max cold or max hot which is just how I like it for life in Oklahoma. Where we got two kinds of weather, effing hot or effing cold and if you don't like the weather here, just wait a minute.
Yes I just used a PEX ball valve and that did help a lot
If, your A/C system is putting out decently cool air, and has not been serviced for "umpteen unknown years", why would you want to use this product?
Mine is a few degrees short of being really cold, I bought a dash thermometer to watch it, and when on the highway, it seems to be in Blue cold range of ~40-50 degree air

I saw that description on Amazon also but I think they have the products confused? I think the cool shot extreme ultra is a leak sealer and cool shot ultra is a system enhancement. The ultra does work when you put it in but I cannot remember how long it works for. It made my system cooler even with a clogged orfice tube, evaporator and a 20 year old compressor. I would have to agree that it's better to fix the AC system the right way rather than put a bandaid on it.
If it works why not stretch the life of the parts you have? Chuck it in a landfill and hand China more money or use an additive and keep what ya got? And sorry to say even dropping all the extra coin for Motorcraft parts still nets you Made in China these days.
Yeah I actually found some 3 way valves and made a fancy control loop so the coolant still got to circulate. Not sure it really makes any difference one way or the other, but the 3 way valves are kinda cool all the same.
There is no need for coolant to circulate through that loop.
We use electric 3-port valves in non-PSD vegetable oil conversions.
Interesting. That is not the way the manufacturer originally claimed the benefits of the product to be. I wonder if Errecom changed the formulation or that description is the product of an exuberant copy writer. Perhaps future editions will claim to cure ED as well.
EDIT: It appears they mashed the descriptions for Extreme Ultra and Cool Shot Ultra together. This is the catalog page from Errecom.
I considered using stop-leak in the A/C in my Jimmy but in the end, decided not to. I got too many negative comments from the mechanics I know. The first question I have is...if it stops leaks, what does it do to the orifice, which seems like is basically a calibrated leak.
after looking at some of the evap units here on the forum... I am honestly afraid to pull mine apart.. scared that some new monkey raping virus might jump out of the evap unit and stat a new wave of masks...
