I have a 1966 F100 352 w/C4 trans.
Am reinstalling the dipstick to the transmission.
it has a bolt attachment bracket for somewhere around the back engine.
I cannot tell where to attach it. Doesn’t make sense to remove an engine block bolt.
any recommendations?
The chart should help shed some light on which trans you have.
If not, you can look up which trans you have by the code on your Warranty Plate in the link below
If you have a C4. I don't think Ford ever put one of those behind an FE. In that case there will not be a dipstick and tube that will bolt up to the engine. You will have to get an aftermarket dipstick and tube from someplace like Lokar. Most of the tubes for C4's and C6's were bolted to the bellhousing. There were a bunch of different ones depending on the engine and vehicle it was in.
