I have a SBF 5 bolt that I put twin turbos on and stuffed into a 1964 f100. I have the 2 speed Fordomatic but am wondering what transmission options I have for a five bolt small block Ford that can handle some power and won’t break the bank. Should I just build a 6 bolt block? I really don’t want to but I have one.
thank you

I think Ford used the same transmissions on both 5 an 6 bolt engines. If you are staying with an automatic the C4 trans is your best bet. The trick is going to be finding a 5-bolt converter housing. My interchange book is a little vague on that, but I think a C5AP-7976-A will work. That is a casting number not a part number since the book I have was written for folks who were junk yard shopping.
Thanks Crop….I will check it out. It’s actually a 221 but should be the same as a 260 or 289. Do you know if you can swap a T-5 trans to a 5 bolt ?
I don’t really know what Direction I’m going with the truck. I Started building it as something to do and it has now turned into something that is kinda cool

I must say a twin turbo 221 is kinda cool and the only one in existence. I have no idea how to hook a T5 to that little engine. I think the easiest route is to buy a Mustang parts car that has a T5 and mine the parts from it using the 302 you have or the 5.0 from the mustang.
