I watched it a day or two ago and gleaned a few good info nuggets. I'm hoping that they quietly nailed down their sporadic lifter quality issues too (not that it was a huge deal to begin with). But wouldn't hurt to have a bit more peace of mind.
One thing that I wondered about on the 7.3L was the very tall valve springs. Looks like the reason is the cam has a lot of lift on both the intake and exhaust.
OK, there is not a savings to Ford of $1,700 in the 6.8. It's basically just a different crank. Is the transmission that much cheaper? Is Ford just taking a lower profit on the 6.8?
I'd further bet that BOTH engines are cheaper to build than the 6.2 was.

Both a cheaper engine and transmission. Transmission is basically a F150 transmission. So for the average person this savings is probably not significant, but if your a big utility company that purchases these trucks by the hundreds, that savings will be attractive over the entire fleet and helps keep Ford in the number one sales position. Kind of like McDonalds cheap hamburgers... Not the best tasting burger but the number one selling burger.
Andre was having to drag very simple answers out of the man. Almost like he was bothering him.
Andre and the rest of them could aleast when going to these promo events try to look professional with maybe golf shirt with their logo on it instead of a big belly smuck just off the street corner asking quetions. Might as well whip out the selfie stick and do the q&a.
But then in this day and age it's ok to go shopping and fly on airplanes wearing pajamas.

All of them are insufferable. They talk like they don't know anything about trucks but they are supposed to be hosting a channel about trucks. I get appealing to the layman but they appear to be the laymen. They come off a little...stupid.
If any of you guys are interested in taking the Ford ASE course for the 2023 F series feel free to PM me, ill let you use my Ford Cert # to sign up for the class. I have two authorized spots I didn't use this year. The course gets you hands on with the 6.8L and 10R100 and provides all the 2023 F series engineering and service literature that is provided to us Ford Certified Techs.
Nothing to fear of the lesser 6.8L/10R100 and the 10R100 is not at all "basically an F150 transmission".... Same rumor said about the 6R100 transmission that is just plain false.
The 7.3 doesn't show up on Ford's site for ordering, at least on the F Super Duty. The 6.8 and the diesels do. The detuned 7.3 shows for the Medium Duty trucks. Is this because of durability issues?
