yes...I forgot the number they are. 9006's or 9007's. Whatever the headlights are they are one number above. Take the front grill out to do them. It will make life a lot easier.
Are you guys liking the Silver Stars in your 250's? Do you have them in your fog lights too? What do you think? How much do they cost? Do you replace both the high and low beam bulbs. Sorry, I have never taken a look at my lights, so forgive me. What are the #'s for an 00 250. TIA.
I'm kind of confused here. My owners manual for my 2001 says the bulbs in my fog lights are 899's, not 9145's. Are the newer lights different? Or are the 9145's similar to 899's?
I just did mine. 9007st are the headlamps and the fogs are 9145st ( which I have not been able to find yet ). IMO they are not THAT great. They are definatley whiter but they are no HID's. I did mine 1 at a time so I could see the difference and took some pics but its HARD to get a good picture of a headlight shining right at you. Maybe I'll try to post them later. Also they are only rated for around 1000 hrs which is substantially less than the stock Sylvania lamps. At $42 bucks every 1000 hrs they could be pricey to maintain.
i stand corrected....they are either 9005's or 9006's. Which ever is the single beam is the one you want. They are the ones with the 90 degree connector. I have them in mine and they work great. Much better than the night lights ford gave us.
Check out my gallery for a SilverStar vs. Stock Foglamp picture. The fog SilverStars are the 9005's...although I still haven't been able to find them anywhere in my area.
King,
HID lights are a sunlight (white/blue) color light beam (offering higher color temperature) and lower power consumption as HID lights give out more than 300% the amount of light of a Standard Halogen bulb. Using HID headlights also improve the peripheral vision and down-road illumination when driving in the dark. Clear white HID headlights produced by HID conversion kit is similar to daylight, therefore reflecting road markings and signs better than conventional headlight lighting.
AND THEY COST BIG $$$$$$$$$$$
You see them on all the BMW's and Mercedes and most other european crap!
Do the upgrade to Silver Star 9005s in the fog lights. Remove the grill to to gain access. Just 4 screws on top and 4 clips on the bottom to remove. Piece of cake.
Now the headlight lamps 9007 are a real pain in the a$$ to replace. Not much room to work behind the batteries.
