Question Intermittent Starting problem? First time powerstroke owner

Hello,
I'm a first time power stroke owner (bought the truck last week!) and need some guidance on some trouble shooting I've been doing.

Late 2004 F350 180k
56v FICM
Blue spring mod
Mishimoto alum rad
Sinister coolant filter
Previous owner replaced glowplugs
Changed oil and filter
Changed fuel filters

I drove the truck home two hours and stopped for food, came out and truck wouldn't start on first crank but did on second. After that, the same thing happened twice more when hot and then once in the morning over the next few days (all this happened before I had a data logging tool). I've done quite a bit of reading on the symptoms and assumed I had a small high pressure oil leak or air in high pressure oil system. The random multiple cranks is my only symptom; no rough running, hesitant acceleration or anything else.

I got a cts3 and installed it and I fueled the truck full for the first time (used hotshots edp and diesel extreme) and for two or three days every time I would go to start the truck I would turn the key to Run and get the data log set up and then start the truck (key was in run position for at least ten seconds). Visually I could see my ICP, ICP voltage and IPR were all ok (always well above 500psi and IPR would sit around 45% when cranking). FICM voltage was around 54.5v and (I thought) Synced. It started within 2.5 sec every time, in every condition, this further made me believe there was a small amount of air in the system. I've been driving it regularly and made a four hour round trip two days ago with now issue. Yesterday, I began having the random multiple crank issues again (seems to happen after the tank is at or under 1/4, which i don't think has anything to do with this but its worth mentioning). I was quite low on fuel coming home today (10%) and I noticed a very quick slight rough idle when sitting at a light.

I was able to capture two multiple crank events today (both took three plus cranks, though the second one only capture the last crank then fire):

the autozone event was at autozone about after driving 30 mins, the truck sitting for 20 while I washed it and then driving another eight to autozone (it sat for maybe ten min before coming out and it happening)

the 711 event happened at the gas station after driving 30 min home and stopping to get fuel, put additive in and then pumped fuel (so truck sat for maybe 15 min before event)

Looking at the events the only thing I see that is different from the crank events vs the firing event is the FICM sync. Reading through multiple post, it is my understanding that I should have FICM sync every time I crank, which is not the case.

Would the next correct course of action be:
Checking the connections on the bottom of FICM
Checking the harness for rub through
Check the Camshaft and Crankshaft sensor (is there a way for me to do that with the cts3?)
If all those check out replace FICM?

I apologize for the long winded post but I want to be as detailed as I can. Thank You for any help!
-Andrew
