HELP! All crank no start. D
Hey all, Im new to the diesel world.
vacation turned into a stay-cation...im stranded and bleeding out cash..I have a 96 that ran out of diesel. I got refueled and got it started after a few cranking sessions. It ran burping and lunging but after a little while things were back to normal. every now and then it would lunge but thats it.
I sat in a camping spot with my family for a few days and then finally packed up to leave. a mile down the road it died, all crank no start. I figured there is more air so after cranking open the filter bowl and cranking a few times it started back up. another mile down the road and it died again... tried the mentioned method to bleed it further and all crank no start. so we spent the night in the camper and in the morning i figured i needed a tow. Before i had it towed i had the driver give me a jump and it started right up. Drove to the nearest dealer and while idling in the service bay it died( it drove fine for 5 miles). again all crank no start.
it was throwing Codes for both the IPR and CPS so both were replaced.
fuel filter is good and fuel pressure and HPOP pressure is good.
voltage while cranking is normal for the Alt.
batts are above 12V, both are blue top optima one is brand new other is a few years old. Also tried cranking while the batts where hooked to a jump box.
tried cranking it from both fuel tanks, no change.
Now have a PCM code low injector pressure dealer wants to replace PCM.
at my wallet and wits end..Any ideas?

Might be your injectors maybe? or the pcm took a dump and shorted out. Try doing a reset, unhook both batteries, let it sit for a few minutes and re hook them, see what it does. I dont remember the ford reset, like pontiac is leaving the key on for 5 minutes with nothing on turn it off then start it. Chevy minivans were turning the key on and off 5 or 6 times, Try it, and see what she does. Hope all works out for you!
