The yellow with Black trace wire in your truck harness connector c333 should be the switch wire = On in ACC,ON position of the key. And it should connect to the RED wire on the head unit.

The Yellow with Black trace wire is on the truck side of the plug however, it doesn't come out as Yellow/Black on the stereo side so I don't know which one to use...

I can live with it working ONLY in the ON position on the key...at least now it is shutting down with the key off.

look at the wire harness between truck connector and the radio. You should be able to follow the wire.

truck fired right up after sitting all night with the stereo connected (powered off)...so it would appear that this was my source of the drain.

all good.
