The horn on my 94 Holiday Rambler (f53 chassis) has quit working. When I push the center of the steering wheel you can clearly hear the #3 relay "tick." So I assume that the switch is communicating with the relay, but the relay isn't communicating with the horn. Where would I find the fuse for the horn?
Also, while digging around looking for horn fuse, I found a melted 30 amp in an orange wire (see pic). Any ideas what this is? 30 amp seems like a lot for a horn and I don't believe they're associated.
Very hard to tell you where to look since class A motorhomes are basically hand built one by one and there's no standard across them. The problem could be anywhere. But it's easy to remove the horn relay and jump the terminals in the relay socket with a paper clip or jumper wire to see if the horn makes a sound. You wanna jump #30 to #87 momentarily to see if it makes noise. You should get a small spark when you make contact. If you don't get a spark, you either had no power, a disconnect, or no ground and you'll need to break out the multi meter.
normally there is no fuse on the horn circuit.
if the relay is clicking when horn button is pressed, the horn should work.
i would check the horn itself. my bet is you will find it is dead.
You had better check power to the horn first
Most likely you need a horn
Less likely you need a horn relay
Yours is clicking indicating the primary side of the circuit works
Test power at the horns and replace with some real loud ones
