Problems !

Hello just looking for some insight on this weird problem shortly after I put the sct 4x tuner with a custom tune on .

truck will hit about 2,000rpms then drastically downshift and then I get a dead pedal and blowing diesel smoke everywhere , then you have to press the gas down a little harder then it launches me .

also as well I will start the truck up to go to work , I put it in reverse . which is perfect , as soon as I put it into drive it sputters and dies out . So I would have to turn it back on an press the gas until billowing clouds of white smoke come out then it drives fine . Was thinking it could be a injector o-ring? Thoughts please?
thanks !

Remove the tune, see if anything changes.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing it wasn't doing this prior to the tune, which is why we find ourselves here

Custom tunes can be hit or miss when it comes to these trucks. Certain tune writer's tunes run GREAT on one rig, and like CRAP on another! That being said...whenever a tune is installed, the truck is now running ABOVE stock parameters and the tune always pushes for more from everything than stock performance. Any component(s) on the truck that is/are not up to par will start to show it's true colors. This may possibly be what you're seeing as well...

hey thanks for getting back to me I have removed the tune and put back to stock the down shifts and dead pedal stoped. But the problem with putting it into drive and it dying and blowing white smoke still remains . And I noticed when the tune was on it would throw glow plug codes , but when I returned to stock their is no more glow plug codes?

You will need to get a monitoring tool, something that also reads codes better than your tuners display.
