Restoring reverse lights

Seeking some guidance on hooking up the back up lights on my '73 F100. The truck originally came with a manual 3 speed tranny but has been replaced with a C6 auto. I swapped to a auto steering column & installed a new NN switch & turn signal switch.
I plugged in 4 prong connector to NN switch to the existing plug under dash (see pic). I know I am not getting power to reverse light socket with this setup. When I first got truck it had the connector (pictured by itself) inserted into the one under dash.
I noticed there is a (2) spade connector @ driver side firewall (engine compartment/see pic); the two wires are black w/red tracer. When I put test light into one of those female spades & turn key on & shift to reverse I get power.
So, based on that what would be the best/easiest way to bring power to the wiring @ NN switch ? Do I splice into those two wires @ firewall & connect to the two black/red wires @ NN switch ?
Thanks for any input !

The socket in the lower picture should have a jumper wire between the terminals. That's the way the factory did it when the truck came with an automatic.

Mike, thanks for the quick response. So, if I make my own jumper wire & connect to that plug issue resolved ? Thanks again.

Yeah, from the factory, if you had a manual transmission, the three speed back up light switch, located at the base of the steering column in the engine compartment, plugged into that socket. If you had a 4 speed an extension harness plugged into it and ran down to the transmission.

And some more info from mikeo0o0o0 on this subject from a long time ago. But still good stuff.

" When the trucks came with a manual trans, there was a dummy plug used to bypass the NSS switch. I've never been able to come up with a part number for the dummy plug. To bypass the automatic set up: Unplug the switch and discard or ignore. There are four wires in the harness plug, two each, red w/ blue trace and black w/ red trace. Run a jumper between the red/blue and red/blue, do the same for the black/red. That completely bypasses the NSS switch. Your truck will now start and the back-up lights will be permanently on. Now on to the backup lights. In the engine compartment is a little U shaped jumper wire. It'll be located on the drivers side splash pan, just in front of the firewall where the wiring harness comes through. Unplug the little jumper, this will shut off the back up lights. There should be a back up light switch on the trans cover. Run two wires from the switch to the two wires that were jumped. This will get your back up lights working again. Just a note, you could make a jumper plug out of the NSS. Cut the switch off the harness and splice the two pairs of wires. I just hate to cut these switches up. New, they're getting pricey. Here's the little jumper in the engine compartment.
EDIT: If you don't care about the back up lights, just jumper the red w/ blue trace wires. This will by pass the NSS but the back up lights won't work."
