The sticker doesn't show date, but says to change by 58k-ish. But I just remembered that the truck hasn't been driven very much the last 2 years (owner passed away and handed the truck down). So I'm now thinking that it's very possible that it hasn't been changed in a while.
I found an oil filter in my back woods north of manitowoc that the frost pushed up... It was about that rusty lol
Wisconsin club meeting on this thread! Lol. id like to think that if you change your oil filter at all close to the required frequency you will never get a rusty filter. bonus points if your engine leaks oil onto it lol! Ive never had paint damage on a filter after a long time let alone a rusty one
Being a Jr mechanic and retired 30 years from a Ford dealer, I concur on the age of the oil filter.
Id take a hard look underneath and make sure the rust below is acceptable to you before buying it. I’d also ask when the oil was changed last
It looks amazingly good underneath and clear of any sign of fluid leaks as well. Seems odd the places that have more rust. The tow hitch is pretty bad too, but mostly clear all around it. Go figure.
