Roadmaster swaybar nightmare
I decided i would try a roadmaster so i called them on the phone to discuss my need for something that would work properly with a lifted vehicle. The tech support person gave me a part number for the kit and then stated... one it arrives install the bar onto your axle and then hold the swaybar level and measure to the designated holes in your frame to determine what length the end links need to be. Then call me back and we will be happy to make you a pair of end links to proper length for your truck. He also stated they would simply swap the 11" links in the kit for the proper length links.
I stated are you certain about that? I cant see them making me a pair of links just for my truck.... his reply was " its what we do, we build these links every single day, its our business". He then emailed me a link and photos of the E350 kit installed on a dually truck. I then ordered the kit and waited two days for it to arrive, then immediately unboxed, installed, then measured what length the links needed to be. I called tech support at roadmaster again and spoke with the same employee, told him my name and refreshed his memory or so i thought. I explained i installed the kit and i need links 15 inches long. He then states ohhhhh, this is going to cost some money, i reminded him thats not what he said three days ago when i agreed to try their product. He became noticably upset but acknowledged that he in fact did state such.
He then proceeded to mumble something incoherently and stated, ya, this is going to take some time. He states im gonna have to get with the guys in the shop and see what we can do, this is gonna take some time, its probably going to be a minimum of two weeks. When i reminded him that is not what he stated on the phone three days earlier he became verbally abusive and angrier. I stated lets just forget it, i think i will just return the product. He flipped out and got loud on the phone stating.... If thats what you wanna do i dont care, send it back its isnt my problem...!!
So it looks like i will be yanking this thing off, reinstalling my supersteer tracbar and sending this thing back. I should have dug a bit deeper into reviews on this company so thats my fault. Probably better stay with Hellwig or one of the other swaybar manufacturers.
No end links
Supersteer removed
