I know I've seen other posts on cracked windshields on newer superdutys but for the life of me I can't seem to find one now that I'm experiencing a 12 inch crack on the lower passenger side of the windshield. I do not see or remember the original rock strike and I'm starting to think there wasn't one and it just started to crack. Am I imagining things or is this a thing with Ford or HD trucks in general? Has anyone had this issue? Unfortunately, it appears no one will fix it beyond 3-6 inches although I know its possible to do so I'm giving it a whirl with the Rainx repair kit.
If you don't catch it before it takes off it most likely will keep running.
I use the Permatex windshield repair kit on my truck. I always have a kit in the glovebox. So far my '21' has 6 repairs, this is the second windshield for this truck.

Thanks, got a good deal on a replacement for 285 and ran with it.
Even though Insurance company says they will cover the chip repair at $0 cost there is a claim added towards your policy each time. When it comes to renewing/purchasing a new policy the claims will show up and could affect your rate. Had a friend claim 6 Glass Chips over 3 years and when he went to add his 16 year old son to his policy they said he had 6 claims toward his policy and was puzzled what they were as he hadn't been in any accident. Further investigation revealed it was the Glass Claims. As other have stated, nothing is free. The cost will be absorbed somewhere. Just adding story.
