Any reason you don't want to use the button and fold both in to squeeze in your spot? Seems like the most logical thing to do..... Nevermind I read that you need to use your passenger mirror while going in so you're stuck manually folding them at that point, or you could use a spotter and fold both mirrors in until you get into your yard then fold them both back out.

I do use a spotter when available, but I still trust my own eyes better...
Keep those experiences coming in. But again, if anyone has a drawing or sketch of the mechanism, that would be great!
I actually clipped wings with another Superduty last week on a really tight section of back road. I was rolling about 5mph because I knew it was going to be close and we may have to stop and fold mirrors, other driver didnt slow down and was doing about 15-20mph. My manual mirror just folded in from the collision and their power mirror folded in as well. They stopped and their mirror would not fold out anymore and was clearly busted inside even though the housing didnt even break, just their marker lens broke.
Years ago I was sitting at a stop light and some clown in a Dodge Ram with the moose mirror hit my passenger side mirror pushing it out a bit. No ill effect...
