Preferred bed liner for diy
I'm going for tan/sand color and strongly leaning toward raptor liner, but I'd like to have more opinions before pulling the trigger.
For those that have bed lined their Excursions, what product and application method did you use? Any other tips, pointers, regrets, do's & don'ts learned from the experience?
But I gotta disclose up front, paint & body is not a subject I know much about other than shake can and hope for the best. This is going to be a learning experience for me.
I do have a good air compressor that should keep up with spraying just fine.
As for the roof, I've looked into a lot of coatings. One thing I considered was RV roof paint. Many of those make pretty bold claims about UV reflection and some even provide an R-value for insulation.
However, they also say things about mold & mildew, like "up to 5 years mildew protection". Whereas with bed liners I've never even heard of one instance where mildew is a thing.
There is also the option of doing the rooftop in white, FJ style or laying down the lighter color only on the upper surface so it doesn't show unless viewed directly above.
I'm 99% set on sticking with one color. I think Tan will do what I want and look fine with leaving the external fixtures ( bumpers, mirrors, door handles, Etc) black.
