Minute Masters has an excellent video on Youtube that shows how to run both the KOEO and KOER tests with an inexpensive innova 3145 code reader
You can find that reader on Amazon or at summit racing for around $35-$40.
If you are going to keep the truck long term a code reader is an excellent investment. It can keep you from chasing your tail throwing unnecessary parts at it.
I think code 22 and 12. I have to redo it I was doing it in a rush, but that’s what I saw. For KOEO. I need to do KOER still. But I haven’t driven it so I need to drive it first. Is code 22 and 12 related? I googled 22 people were asking about MAP sensors and grounds, and 12 I saw about rough idle.
My truck idles fine when I start it up though it lopes up and down 2-3 times but after that it’s fine. The lope isn’t severe though.
12 Idle Speed Control motor or Air Bypass not controlling idle properly (generally idle too low) - ISC 22 MAP (vacuum) or BARO signal out of range - MAP
Here’s the video of the codes, I must’ve looked away for the second code, would the second be a 13? Or is the 4th flash a part of that code? I think it’s saying it’s done flashing because it doesn’t flash after that. It’s not a 12.
OP - yes. Buy that reader. It's a must have item in your garage for these trucks. Also get a Haynes manual or Chiltons. Or both. Then spend some time with the book or youtube learning how to read the KOEO and KOER codes, stored codes, clearing codes, etc. That will help you cut through the fog and know what to chase down first. Don't start chasing several things at once.
