Ignition issues

Went to start my truck and power just shut off. When key is in off position I have power. When I turn the key to start - no power. Had truck towed back to my shop. Turned key to on position and had power for a moment then went dead. At first I thought it might be the ignition switch or that pit metal actuator rod. Now I’m not sure. Anyone??

sounds like you spun the tumbler over or the switch is faulty

easier to replace both and know them be good for another 10 years

Replaced switch and that was not problem. Tumbler feels fine. I have the column disassembled and all parts appear to be intact. Both actuators look good.

check battery cables and connections on both ends. it sounds to me like you have a bad connection. good enough to give power for lights and things, but once the starter draw hits it looses connection.
