Need help/advice

Hi all,

I just got done replacing rear leaf springs on my 2002 Excursion, however I have run into issues now that it is on the ground.

I was able to get the bolts and nuts in the front hanger and rear shackle and use a floor jack to push the axle into place so that the center pins would align. I then got the U bolts on, snugged down, put the tires back on and lowered it down so the full weight is on the suspension.

Now comes the problem... I am able to torque the front hanger bolt and the rear bottom shackle bolt to 185 ft-lbs... however I cannot get the rear top shackle bolt to tighten to 185 ft-lbs. It wants to just keep spinning... even with a wrench on the nut pushed up against the body/hanger to prevent the wrench from moving (ie holding the nut in place)... it just won't tighten to 185ft-lbs. Could I have messed up the threads already? Grade 8 bolts and nuts from ATS... so I don't think I would be able to hurt them hand tightening them, especially since I hit the 185 ft-lbs on the other bolts with no issue.

Looking for advice on what to do with the top bolts...

Sean
