TCM

Good morning,
I have a 2013 f250. 6.7 diesel. Been deleted for over 100,000 miles. Have a new issue I’ve never seen before. Truck tries to start but only jumps. Lights flash, get clicking noises from under the truck. After a few tries, it throws a Po884 code for TCM power input signal intermittent. After the truck is warm, it can crank and start and run fine. All batteries are new. Terminals are clean. Wires are good. Checked the TCM. Opened it and cleaned the terminals with Eletrical cleaner. No bad wiring. BUT, I get no transmissions issues while driving. No slipping gears. The best way I know how to describe the starting process is it’s like the truck is having a seizure. It even resets the sync screen after a few tries. Any clues ?

Look for broken wires. Maybe wires that got chewed on my a rodent. Otherwise, maybe a relay is on the fritz.

appreciate the input. I’ve checked all wiring looms. Nothing appears to be broken or damaged. Replaced the relay for the starter already. Seems to be getting worse. Haven’t load tested the batteries yet. I still have power. Both show to have 12v. I’m leaving towards a bad cell in one of the batteries. I’ll update if I can find it. Thank you again.

If you have new batteries, and it had the same problem with the old batteries, then it's unlikely to be the battery. A bad starter is where I would look next.

just to rule it out, check the wiring by the e-brake. Tends to be a problem for some.

Also check the wiring that goes under the motor as that has been known to rub and break.
